During Fall 2019, I took an independent historical interpretation course. I chose a 1940s wedding dress as the key inspiration for my modern day design. I wanted to incorporate a fresh and young feel with slimming silhouette. I used the 1940s trim as inspiration for making my own faggotted rouleau. A new technique I learned for this design was diagonal pleating, which can be seen on the bodice. The pleats are closed by hand.
